Healthy Children's Breakfast Ideas

The prevalence of ultra processed foods in our kid’s diets makes for grim reading, with one of the main contributors being breakfast cereal. Setting our children up for a day of learning and play at school or nursery means they need protein and good fats at breakfast, which most supermarket cereals are sadly lacking. Protein and good fats help them feel full and energised without any sugar highs and lows. So here are some ideas for some quick and nutritious breakfasts:

❤️ Full fat plain yoghurt with fruit, nuts and or seeds and a drizzle of honey
❤️ Homemade granola with milk of choice or yoghurt and fruit
❤️ Dippy eggs with toast and veg sticks
❤️ Porridge with ground flaxseeds and berries
❤️ Toast with nut butter and veg sticks

But if cereal is your only option, think about what you could add to it to make it more nutritious e.g: extra nuts and seeds, nut butter, yoghurt or an extra portion of fruit.
